Supporting Emotional Wellness. Strengthening Skills. Empowering Growth.

At JACKSON (Youth Program), we believe that emotional well-being is an important foundation for personal growth and everyday success. Building on our commitment to social and emotional development, we have expanded our services to include behavioral health services that address individual needs, encourage positive change, and strengthen the skills needed to navigate life’s challenges.

Through Outpatient Therapy and Therapeutic Mentoring (TM), we provide individualized support focused on improving emotional well-being, building healthy relationships, and developing practical skills that foster confidence and independence.

Therapeutic Mentoring (TM) Services

Developing Skills for Everyday Life

Our Therapeutic Mentoring services provide structured, community-based support to help youth strengthen the social, emotional, and behavioral skills necessary to manage everyday situations successfully.

Therapeutic Mentors work directly with youth to reinforce treatment goals through interactive activities, guided practice, and real-world experiences. Services are designed to help youth develop greater confidence, improve relationships, and apply newly learned skills in their daily environments.

Areas of Focus

Therapeutic Mentoring may include:

  • Social Skills and Peer Relationships: Building positive connections, understanding social cues, and navigating interactions with others.

  • Communication Skills: Expressing thoughts and feelings appropriately, practicing active listening, and communicating needs effectively.

  • Conflict Resolution: Learning constructive ways to manage disagreements, handle frustration, and respond to challenging situations.

  • Emotional Regulation: Recognizing emotions, identifying triggers, and practicing appropriate responses.

  • Role-Playing and Skill Practice: Using guided scenarios and behavioral exercises to strengthen appropriate social responses and decision-making.

  • Problem-Solving: Exploring choices, understanding consequences, and developing practical solutions to everyday challenges.

  • Confidence and Independence: Encouraging self-awareness, accountability, and the ability to make responsible decisions.

  • Applying Skills in Real-Life Settings: Practicing and reinforcing learned behaviors at home, in school, and within the community.

Therapeutic Mentoring is provided in coordination with the youth’s clinical treatment plan, supporting consistent skill development and measurable progress toward individualized goals.
